-------------------------
:: Website Updates ::
-------------------------

WOW!! We are now at over 3 million hits per month!! Yes it's not a typo -
over 3 million hits per month and growing. (For the interested it's also
50-60Gb of bandwidth per month too). Netrider is now one of Australia's
highest rated motorcycling websites. With the discussion forums, links
directory, classifieds, events calendar, articles, and Ask Vic! sections
is it any surprise? We've listened to your feedback and put in some hard
work over the last 12 months to give you what you've asked for. But we
haven't stopped there, with some future sections coming very soon
including advanced ride announcements and nominations, picture gallery
for you to upload ride and bike pics, and some action around a Netrider
Assist concept for volunteer members to help other members when their
bikes breakdown or something more serious.

Keep your eye on the Events Calendar at
http://www.netrider.net.au/calendar/ for details on rides and other
motorcycling events. Please use the submit option for add your own events
or rides to the calendar, and let everyone know about your ride or event.

As you can probably imagine, paying for a website with over 3 million hits
and 20Gb of traffic per month is by no means cheap. We have some
advertising on the site to help offset these costs, but welcome any more.
If yourself or anyone you know is interested in advertising with Netrider
for your/their business, please take a look at
http://www.netrider.net.au/?page=advertising or send us an email to
netrider@netrider.com.au for further details. Starting at just $15 per
month, it's excellent value to reach a targeted audience of motorcyclists
and share in the over 3 million hits per month. We'd ask all members to
please click on the unobtrusive ad's you see if you are interested in the
product or service. It's only through these clicks that we are able to
attract the advertisers and help offset the large monthly bill. I'm sure
my wife see's the monthly charges on the credit card and thinks I'm off
to a short stay hotel!

If you have any articles or any suggestions/feedback you'd like to share
with us for the website, please email them to netrider@netrider.com.au
We'd love to hear from you!

Trapdoor Ski Club in Mt. Hotham is our latest partner, and I can
personally vouch for it's great facilities for those riding or family

with just your spouse.

Name: Chris R
Nickname: NovaCoder
Rides: ZX6R (last 2 years)
Previous Rides: A diet of lower capacity bikes for example a Yamaha
FZR400, an RGV250, and loads of 2-stoke 125's (it's a British thing, best
not to think about it).
Riding Years: Years and years, about 15 I think, scary stuff!
Employment: Currently working as a programmer for a bank in the big bad
city (Melbourne)
Joined Netrider: Nov 2003
Interests: Coding, bikes, and games. http://www.novacoder.com/
Story:
1) Riding along on my little Yamaha RD50 with a mate on the back. Going
round a bend in the wet and lent it over too far, bike went down with us
underneath but somehow bounced back upright and so we just kept
going.....cool, a knee-down save on a moped :-)
2) On another occasion I was going past the local youth-club (riding as
GP125) with the same guy on the back (he must have been a sucker for
punishment). I decided to do some show-boating and managed to pull this
huge mono (not easy when you've only got 12 hp to play with).
Unfortunately we got the front so high that the guy starting falling off
and grabs my shoulder which then pulls my hand off the bar, this
prevented me from pulling the clutch in and returning us to tera-ferma.
Luckily after several meters doing a precarious 'balancing act', I
realised that standing on the rear brake pedal wound also bring us back
down to earth.

If you'd like to share with us all a little Bio and story about yourself
for the next newsletter, then please send an email to
editor@netrider.com.au Some stats such as bike/s, riding years,
background etc., and an interesting or humorous story that's happened to
you is all we are looking for.
